RECENT CALL OUTS:

Print workshop facilitator, one of the workshops on offer during the event will be the chance for visitors to make their own no-sew bag from an old t-shirt. The bag (or anything else!) can be printed with our commissioned monochrome design. If you love interacting with the creatively inquisitive and have the skills to assist people of all experience levels create a custom piece then then get in touch via our contacts page by April 5th! You need to be available on April 9th & 10th at least one day preferably both. There is no fee associated with this task. Venue BA1 5UG.FILLED

Swap Shop Facilitator. Leave one, take one – that’s the theme. Visitors can bring a garment that they no longer ant and swap it for something else. We need a conscientious person who is always lovely to supervise this area and ensure all garments are clean and wearable and that no one leaves unsatisfied. If you think this is something you’d enjoy and you have the skills then get in touch via our contacts page by March 25th! Please be aware there is no water supply, limited electrical outlets and limited space, so please bear this in mind.

Fashion & Textiles We are inviting Fashion and Textile students to submit outcomes that are inspired by and respond to the environmental crisis we are now facing and the need for sustainable fashion. Submission can be in the form of wearable fashion, wall hangings, fabric print designs, samples and can use things such as natural dyes, nature as an influence, sustainable fabrics, repurposed materials or tractability i.e DNA tagging.  Your work will be displayed within the exhibition and is a great place to show off your work and advertise yourself as well as have the experience of being a part of a collaborative exhibition. Submission deadline: 5th Apr.

Visual Communications We are inviting Visual Communication students to create a monochromatic design that could be printed onto t-shirts and bags. The design would be a response to the environmental crisis we are now facing but also show a way forward such as ‘make do and mend’ or ‘upcycle your fashion’. As this will be printed on items of fashion the design should have impact but also be stylish and wearable. Please incorporate your designer credit in the design.

Mender Makers we are looking to create a team to patch, mend, cover, disguise, hem, reattach and fix damage clothing. Visitors will be encourage to bring in spoiled garments and our menders will send them away with a wearable, customized garment. Visual Communications would love to incorporate your creative genius into our event. We need signs, info boards, etc. Themed on picket line placards. Get in touch via our contacts page if you’d like to get involved in the design process. There is no fee associated with this task.

Exhibition Submissions. We are inviting students ( undergrad and postgrad) to submit outcomes that are inspired by and in respond to the environmental issues and to encourage art and design students with environmental sustainability themes and recycling. Submissions can be in any form of artwork: painting, sculpture, installation, ceramics. Students are also encouraged and free to use any recyclable objects. Your work will be displayed within the exhibition and its a good opportunity to show case
your work and make connections.
Students are also free to submit their already existing work which fits into this theme and they are free and encouraged to work in teams.CLOSED
